Two brooches, worn together

Wearing two brooches at once is a confident move, and Bulgari is the house for it. Bulgari's vintage jewelry is known for bold color, rounded cabochon stones and a sculptural, Roman sense of volume. Pinned side by side, two brooches become one composition, each making the other look bigger and brighter.

The two brooches

The Bulgari swan, 1988

Our Bulgari Yellow Sapphire Swan Brooch was made in 1988 in 18-karat yellow gold. The swan's body is a single oval natural yellow sapphire of 62.69 carats (AGL certified). Its wings are marquise-cut Burmese rubies, about 16.75 carats, its neck and head are set with round diamonds, and a small pear-shaped emerald forms the eye. It is signed Bulgari and comes with its original box and a copy of the original 1988 Bulgari invoice.

The Bulgari flower

Our Bulgari Multi-Gemstone and Diamond Floral Brooch is a layered flower in 18-karat yellow gold, about 2.25 inches long, its petals set with brilliant-cut diamonds and cabochon sapphires, emeralds and rubies. It is Bulgari color at its boldest.

Vintage Bulgari, briefly

Bulgari was founded in Rome in 1884. From the 1950s onward the house moved away from the French style that dominated fine jewelry and built its own look: strong color combinations, smooth cabochon-cut stones and heavy, sculptural gold. Vintage Bulgari from the 1960s to the 1980s is among the most collected signed jewelry today. If you are new to signed pieces, read what "signed" means in estate jewelry.
